Top 10 TV Show Theme Songs

It has been a long day at school and you just can’t wait to go home! You hop on your bed, turn on your laptop and forget to feel the hours flow by as you spend what’s left of your day watching TV shows.

Arguably, the highlights of outstanding cinematic production that is mainstream TV are TV show theme songs, whether you hum to it or shout to it at the top of your lungs while headbanging like crazy…You know what I am saying, don’t deny!

Well, here are my top 10 TV show theme songs (featuring a lot of people’s childhoods):

  1. Barney the Dinosaur (1992)

Of course, you didn’t think I would leave this one off my list, did you?

Not only did Barney teach us good morals, but most importantly he taught us how to love, be loved and never be scared to let someone know how much they mean to you.

  1. Stranger Things (2016)

Now, this is a controversial one- but who cares when the show keeps you on your tiptoes anyway? The theme song is short but sweet. Sometimes, it’s all about simplicity. If you are not a horror fan but crave the thrill of the genre while still being able to sleep at night. This show is for you!

  1. Adventure Time (2010)

A childhood classic!

Everyone’s favourite family show, the most relatable TV show on the planet.  a man and his dog against the world. Exactly how I dream my life to be… don’t you? although It is 9 seasons long it never gets boring.

  1. Ed, Edd, and Eddy (1999)

Whenever this was on TV, we’d be vibing! *bobs head uncontrollably to the beat*

Like any boys going through their teenage years, Ed, Edd, and Eddy are clueless about girls and everything else on the planet. Eddy may not be the brains of the trio, but he’s the “idea guy,” always dragging his buddies into trouble.

  1. Peaky Blinders (2013)

(Age warning; this is a 16+ show)

Honestly… The theme song is just a REALLY good song. Nominated for NME Award for best Tv series and National Television Award for Most Popular Period Drama is my favourite Tv show. Watching peaky blinders will show you a side of England not many people knew existed! And it will keep all of you mafia lovers satisfied.

  1. La Casa de Papel (2017)

Now I know Bella Ciao is not the theme song. However, I think we can all fully agree it deserves this position on our list. This is the one show where you literally CANNOT settle on a favourite character. Every single one of them just gets better and better at their roles as each season passes. Can’t wait for season 4!

  1. Friends

Although the show may be a bit overrated (please don’t hunt me down- this was debated in another article), the theme song is really the missing puzzle piece in our lives. The feeling of warmth in my heart watching all these friends stick up for each other and always offering lending hands excites me to meet more people, to hopefully one day find my friends for life.

DRUM ROLL FOR THE TOP 3!!!!!

  1. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1990)

Now this one is for the ’90s most underrated TV show.

  1. Phineas and Ferb (2007)

It’s catchy, it’s fun… I am 18 and I still sing it daily.

With summer vacation starting, Phineas and Ferb decide to make each day more exciting than the last with outrageous adventures while their sister tries to put them in trouble.

  1. In my completely UNBIASED opinion…. (2012)

Gravity Falls!

Whether it is the creepy vibes around this series or the many wild conspiracy theories, you just can’t help not wanting to know more. Indulging your self in the most fictional and imaginative world ever created.
