Planting A Dream: A Poem

I never knew my parents;

I was carried on the breeze.

I fell onto the ground,

Amongst the grass and trees.

An armour had surrounded me-

Soon I let out an arm.

Then I grew up carefully,

For years I felt no harm.

I grew up strong and tall and free

And a little bit wild-

This is how I loved to be,

When I was a child.

When I used to go to sleep,

My breathing’s inside out.

My dreams, they would light up the sky,

I was blissful, without doubt.

I swayed to the music of the stars

The breeze was my song too.

I danced among the short, green grass,

And Paradise was true.

I dressed up in flowers and leaves,

I nourished all my friends.

My brethren flew across the world,

I made my odds and ends.

For years, I lived peacefully;

My life had given me heart,

But then, so soon, so sleepily,

I soon had to depart.
