Regular Pancakes

You’ll need:

  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2  ½ teaspoons of baking soda
  • ½  teaspoon of salt
  • 1 ¼ cups of milk
  • 3 tablespoons of butter (melted)
  • 1 large egg
  • Oil for brushing the pan.
  • Whisk
  • Spatula

  1. In a large bowl, add your powdered ingredients (flour, sugar, baking soda, salt) and evenly combine them.
  2. Make a small well/hole in the middle of the bowl and add the milk, eggs and butter.
  3. Whisk carefully until all the ingredients have mixed together.
  4. Add a small amount of oil to a pan and turn on the heat. Wait for 30-60 seconds until the oil is hot and pour the pancake mix into the pan in a circular shape.
  5. Cook until the side facing the bottom is solidified and a golden brown colour.
  6. Flip it with a spatula (or with the pan-flipping technique where you throw it into the air and it lands on the uncooked side- a bit risky though!) and the pancake should be fully cooked within a few seconds.
  7. Flip the pancake onto an oil-proof towel and pat it down to get the excess oil out.
  8. Enjoy!

Banana Pancakes

  • 2 bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • A small handful of walnuts (optional)
  • ⅓ tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ tablespoon cinnamon
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • A hammer…

*If you are adding walnuts, put them in a sandwich bag and crush them into small pieces-it doesn’t really matter how big they are.

  1. In a large bowl, mash the two bananas and make them as thin as you can.
  2. Add the eggs to the bowl.
  3. Mix them well then add the walnuts, sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Whisk carefully until all the ingredients have mixed together.
  5. Add a small amount of any type of oil to a pan and turn on the heat.
  6. Wait for 30 seconds to a minute for the oil to get hot and pour the pancake mix into the pan in a circular shape and cook until the side facing the bottom has solidified and is a golden brown.
  7. Flip it with a spatula and the pancake should be fully cooked within a few seconds.
  8. Flip the pancake onto an oil-proof towel and pat it down to get the excess oil out and…
  9. Enjoy!
