Regular Pancakes
You’ll need:
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 ½ teaspoons of baking soda
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 1 ¼ cups of milk
- 3 tablespoons of butter (melted)
- 1 large egg
- Oil for brushing the pan.
- Whisk
- Spatula
- In a large bowl, add your powdered ingredients (flour, sugar, baking soda, salt) and evenly combine them.
- Make a small well/hole in the middle of the bowl and add the milk, eggs and butter.
- Whisk carefully until all the ingredients have mixed together.
- Add a small amount of oil to a pan and turn on the heat. Wait for 30-60 seconds until the oil is hot and pour the pancake mix into the pan in a circular shape.
- Cook until the side facing the bottom is solidified and a golden brown colour.
- Flip it with a spatula (or with the pan-flipping technique where you throw it into the air and it lands on the uncooked side- a bit risky though!) and the pancake should be fully cooked within a few seconds.
- Flip the pancake onto an oil-proof towel and pat it down to get the excess oil out.
- Enjoy!
Banana Pancakes
- 2 bananas
- 2 eggs
- A small handful of walnuts (optional)
- ⅓ tablespoon brown sugar
- ½ tablespoon cinnamon
- Whisk
- Spatula
- A hammer…
*If you are adding walnuts, put them in a sandwich bag and crush them into small pieces-it doesn’t really matter how big they are.
- In a large bowl, mash the two bananas and make them as thin as you can.
- Add the eggs to the bowl.
- Mix them well then add the walnuts, sugar and cinnamon.
- Whisk carefully until all the ingredients have mixed together.
- Add a small amount of any type of oil to a pan and turn on the heat.
- Wait for 30 seconds to a minute for the oil to get hot and pour the pancake mix into the pan in a circular shape and cook until the side facing the bottom has solidified and is a golden brown.
- Flip it with a spatula and the pancake should be fully cooked within a few seconds.
- Flip the pancake onto an oil-proof towel and pat it down to get the excess oil out and…
- Enjoy!
