Climate Change

If you didn’t know, climate change is a global crisis that is becoming worse by the minute. It is caused by pollution, whether of land, sea or sky. Climate change in turn can lead to the globe heating up.

All types are issues, most of the land pollution is single use plastic that is not being recycled. When you leave plastic in the sun, it produces greenhouse gasses which destroy the ozone layer that protects us from the sun’s deadly rays. The ozone layer  in our atmosphere is vital to our planet and without it, our planet would not thrive as it does today.

Some of the water pollution is caused by oil that is poisonous to fish. Another form  of water pollution is, again, plastic. People carelessly toss their empty bottles in the sea.  Then, innocent little fish come along looking for food, and eat the plastic that eventually tragically kills them, making them uneatable too, as they are filled with plastic. Furthermore, crashed boats sink underwater, polluting the ocean too!

Most of the air pollution is caused by fossil fuels, such as those, that are created when you burn coal. Because of this, People are searching for more environmentally-friendly fuels. Smoke is also a big issue when it comes to air pollution; it makes the environment we breathe in more and more toxic as we can’t survive while breathing in smoke for long periods of time.

Global warming is affecting the whole world around us; it is making the polar ice caps melt, which is leading to a startling rise in sea levels. The polar ice caps melting is tragic as it is taking away countless homes from polar bears, making them have to go find a new home that is closer to where millions of humans live. If we do not all work together to stop this madness, humans will die. The world heating up is also decreasing the amount of rainfall and drying up lakes in forests, making dozens of animals die of thirst. It’s also a big problem for places that normally don’t need AC, leaving them sweating because of the heat.

Many countries, big and small, have met to discuss it in the famous COP26. Still, some people are criticizing others for not doing enough to save the environment and, in turn, the next few generations of humans! Some children are rioting all over the world with signs that read, “You’re destroying our future.” and other such phrases. Greta Thunberg is a particularly vocal teenage activist who is giving her all to convince people to band together to stop climate change.

In conclusion, climate change is wreaking havoc globally, creating more and more global issues worldwide, and there are not enough people who know enough about it in order to act. This is ruining earths’, and the next few generations’ future. Our planet is unique; being habitable for many species’ including us. After all, there is no second Earth!
