One word to describe this book: mind-blowing.

Dan Brown, a writer whom I admire deeply and is also my favourite author, has a way of making his readers addicted to his books. Having read most of his novels, Angels & Demons is the on

e that had the greatest impact – with its sharp and painful plot twists and some truly traumatic moments.

All of Dan Brown’s books open with a conspiracy, a murder or a terrible mishap. This one in particular is about Robert Langdon, a Harvard symbologist, who finds himself in the midst of saving the Vatican from an antimatter explosion while being heavily muddled up in a puzzle of the origins and intentions of the illuminati and the great debate of science versus religion. The ideas may seem boring, or that’s what most people may interpret from the title of the book, but rest assured, I can wholeheartedly say that in all my years of being a bookworm, this is truly my favourite book. It really made me think hard to predict the future events in its last few pages.

If you adore cliffhangers, Dan Brown’s books are definitely for you, because this man won’t stop with cliffhangers and he has mastered the art of crafting fatal cliffhangers which is the core of any thriller/suspense novel. As well as that, Dan Brown has various techniques in writing that are specifically owned by him other than any writers I have seen. One of them is his portrayal of the characters. He never introduces all the characters at once, he makes sure that the reader has full understanding of the characters by explaining their history as well as their feelings.

As well as that, Dan Brown is known for the venue of his books and the intricacy in which he details his destinations and the architecture in that place. Angels & Demons is set mostly in Rome and the Vatican. He describes details of sculptures and paintings and gives a background of its origins, which to me is the best part about his writing.

Another great thing about this book and all of his other books is how he teaches his readers valuable information while making them enjoy the plot. That is, all the information and the facts in his books are authentic. Hence, while reading, you become more knowledgeable; his books are the epitome of killing two birds with one stone.

If there is any book I would recommend to anyone. ‘Angels & Demons’ definitely tops my list. While reading this book, you will feel like your mind being shoved around and played with. It can be confusing, but of course, in a good way.

Warning: this book will give you a prolonging deep headache forcing you to not read another one of Dan Brown’s books for the next month; but trust me, you will go back to his books soon.
