KACCH Volunteers

NES has associated with the organisation KACCH to take a group of NES volunteers and visit infants in different hospitals and entertain them, during the half term break. So on Wednesday 25th October and Thursday 26th October two groups of our students visited 2 hospitals, the Al Amiri hospital and the Razi hospital, where they showcased their incredible talents to many excited children, and can I just say how staggered I was to see their performances; I mean who knew we had so many exceptionally talented people! We sang, played instruments, performed card tricks, and sport stacked with speed stacks. Immediately, we saw the effect we had on these children and it was heart-warming.

Staying at a hospital is bad enough – imagine being an infant on top of that. Small gestures like this, where people give up some of their time to share it with others in order to cheer them up, is what makes this world a very warm and loving place.

Moreover, I would like to thank KACCH for arranging these visits for us and helping to put a smile on some faces and I would like to thank all of the magnificent people who joined me and Mrs Khedapa on our small trips with the aim of spreading love and kindness. Thank you Saleem, Haneen, Nadia, Nadila, Mathew, Abdelaziz, Marwan, Mariam, Yasmine, Jana, Alia, Sarah, Peter, Janna, Nour, Oumaima, and Ramadan, for volunteering to do this noble act of kindness and giving up your holiday to spend some time with these children in a hospital. Last, but certainly not least, a special thank you goes to Mrs Khedapa for reaching KACCH and planning this wonderful and thoughtful community project, as well as being the benevolent and compassionate person you are.

Finally, please keep an eye out for any announcements made regarding community services like this. It was truly an eye-opening experience, and I want you all to feel the same way we did after visiting these children: grateful.
