Wednesday,16th of January, TRDP had its first collaboration with an organization unrelated to the school. For this specific event, TRDP chose to hold a lecture on the topic of Islamic instruments (instruments that have origins in the Islamic region of the world). The museum programs’ team decided to host the event at CAP (Contemporary Art Platform).
The event was a lecture at CAP conducted by Faris Al Sayed and Saleh Razian, two junior docents who joined TRDP this year academic year. This lecture was the first of many to come.
The lecture included information about the types of musical instruments such as the Oud, Ney, Daf, and percussion instruments etc. An in-depth introduction as to the makings of the instruments, the history behind them and the similarities and differences between western and Islamic instruments were included in the lecture as well. Everyone who attended the lecture found it to be very insightful and informative. As well as educating the audience, the lecture itself was presented in a very mature and confident manner by the two docents
