Remember that one pink- filled day we had on Thursday, the 23rd of October? There was so much chaos that nobody knew what was happening! So what happened on this remarkable day to raise awareness for breast cancer that affects numerous women worldwide.
RAISING AWARENESS:
What is cancer? That’s the
first question many of us have: Cancer is a disease involving abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. Luckily, this school has decided to help raise awareness of this problem and support them by raising awareness to help aid with cancer treatment
WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT?
Raising awareness of cancer can enhance detection, which significantly improves treatment outcomes and survival rates. Helping people in need with just a few words can do so much. Did you know that we, NES, have raised about 700 KWD! This helps fund lifesaving research, which enhances both detection and treatment, this is vital in stopping the spread of cancer!
MFL COMPETITIONS:
What competition
s were held during pink day you may ask? A variety of sports and competitions took place during break. From amazing shots to incredible goals, there was netball, basketball and more activities! Everyone loved watching our year 11s and 12s fighting for 1st place. Everyone did a good job at playing and it was a really entertaining and enjoyable experience!
SPONSORS:
The sponsors that came to our school were Pharmazone and Frost. Pharmazone decided to give out free bags of bookmarks, wipes, balloons, badges, and more! Frost was provided with snack-duty and gave us ice cream with so many various flavors.
PINK DAY:
On 23 October, NES has decided to make it a pink day. A whole day where everyone wore pink and had an amazing time, we also need to remember that we are raising awareness for the whole month of October. It’s more than just dressing up, it’s about what we are supporting and doing the right thing. Always remember the people in need and to always help them.
Pink day is more than just a day.
