The BRONZE awards:
On Friday, the 8th of November, a group of 35 students went to Wafra as a practice in order to prepare for the real expedition (Duke of Edinburgh Award) that will take place on the 15th of November 2024 in the South of Kuwait (Wafra). Since this was just a practice, the students won’t get to stay overnight, however, they got a clear idea of what the actual day will be like and the challenges they will have to face. The students stated that they are extremely excited for the expedition and that they think it is a great way to learn how to be independent, responsible and that they will learn a lot from it. It is a great adventurous experience and they couldn’t be happier to be taking part.
Here is a conversation with one of the students in Year 10, Petar Jacimovic, who will be participating in the expedition:
Interviewer: Hello, how are you doing today?
Interviewee: Hi! I’m doing well
Interviewer: May I ask you some questions about the up-coming expedition?
Interviewee: Yeah, sure.
Interviewer: First question. What are your opinions on the expedition? Are you excited?
Interviewee: Yes I am very excited, because I am going with all of my friends, it will be very fun yet challenging. I will enjoy camping and basically everything about the expedition.
Interviewer: Great answer! What are you least excited about/nervous about?
Interviewee: Honestly, I am most worried about getting lost. Although I am sure our main navigator will lead us it is still a worry.
Interviewer: Interesting. Okay, last question, what are you most excited about in the expedition?
Interviewee: Everything, really. I’m excited to be out and experience everything with my friends. The experience itself will be really fun and I am really looking forward to it!
Interviewer: What a great answer! Thank you so much for your cooperation, I hope you have a great time on the expedition and don’t forget to tell me all about it!
Interviewee: Of course! Thank you so much for having me, have a great day.
