The sky was a gigantuan, grey blanket covering us. The rain was steadily dropping from the sky; a sweat of it poked the soil. It would later make history. After an everlasting amount of time, a tree appeared. This tree was remarkable, with a hole in the middle of its bark.
No one dared to settle their head within it. Once, in bright daylight, a random person had put their head inside the tree- and his head had burned. He’d become headless.
The tree was rumored to have someone living inside. This was because there was a kid named Lucas who used to be bullied, and the day he disappeared, he had said “I will be in your nightmares” to his entire class. Even his four friends; Liam, Noah, Alice and Alessia. Lucas was last seen next to the tree, which made people give him the name Vivus. His friends went around the neighborhood to ask about Lucas, but no one ever answered. After Lucas disappeared, 20 people died that week.
5 years later…
Liam, Noah, Alice, Alessia had now turned 16, and they were still investigating this mystery.
They were sitting beside the glass window waiting for their coffee on a couch. Meanwhile, they were talking about Lucas.
“So… lately ideas have shot into my brain,” claimed Noah. “I think we should enter the tree,” he announced.
“WHAT! Are you serious?!” Liam roared.
“That might actually work!” commented Alice.
“How?” questioned Alessia.
“We could find a way in!” Alice got an idea.
“That was my idea!” sighed Noah. Every time he had an idea someone, else always said it before him.
“But how could we enter?” questioned Liam.
“We could dig a hole next to The tree and maybe we could enter!” Noah said with excitement – it was the first time he got to say his idea.
“We could die… but it’s worth the risk – plus, we don’t have anything to do with our lives,” announced Alessia.
“So when do we start digging!”
The next day…
The group had been digging for hours at night and achieved nothing. The sun started coming up, and they quickly put the dirt back in its place as they didn’t want anybody to see them.
Suddenly, a rather large kid with chocolate in his face, an ice cream cone in his right hand and a coca cola slushie in his left hand spotted them.
“Hey, you’re not supposed to be doing that!” He told them. “I’m telling my mom and dad.” He stuck his tongue out.
“You’re not supposed to be here, no one is allowed next to the tree.” Noah said.
“I knew this wouldn’t work,” Alice, Alessia and Liam said at the same time
“Look, I will give you this if you don’t tell anybody!” Alice showed him 100 dollars
“Not bad, I will take that, ” The kid said with food in his mouth.
“Just put it in my pocket.” he demanded
His pocket had a cockroach inside it.
The group went back to sleep.
12 hours later…
The group met at the place they were digging and found an immense hole with a ladder that they hadn’t placed there. They weren’t sure if they should go down, but then reasoned that this was what they were trying to achieve anyway.
The whole place was full of fog. They couldn’t see anything. The more they went down the foggier it got.
“Guys…can you hear me?!” Noah roared. He was helpless; he was lost. Suddenly he heard a noise of something closing. “Oh no!” he sighed.
“Mmmmmmmmmmmmm” There was a voice.
The fog started to go away, and the ground was an inch away. He saw a figure in the distance, and approached it. He started seeing something behind him. It was three glass boxes with people in them. Noah saw his friends trapped in the boxes, and behind the glass boxes was a gigantuan cage with fire on top and hundreds of dead bodies. The figure was wearing a mask. He slowly started removing it. It was him.
“You haven’t visited in a while!” he said. A cold grin spread across his chilling face. He tilted his head to the right.
“You’re not the same! You’ve changed.” thundered Noah.
“Would you like a drink?”
