On the last Thursday before the mid-term holiday, NES had its first Health and Fitness day of the year. Health and fitness day is always a favorite of NES students, and for good reason too! Everyone gets to wear their PE kit and to engage in fitness activities held during the breaks! This time was no exception: from fun morning runs on the track to the classic hula-hooping at the podium, to the morning kickboxing session!
But this year we had something new and different, something that differentiated this particular health and fitness day from the rest. This time a football academy known as Juventus offered to train students in football during the break. For healthy snacks, Comrades Coffee provided us with fresh juices, sandwiches, salads and delicious muffins.
For the skipping activity, there were “skip-offs” between the students and the teachers. Meanwhile, some sixth-form students did a plank challenge in the common room and even prefects on duty were ready to “plank” – wonderful to see all the prefects being good role models! Oh, and let’s not forget that the Macmillan Coffee Morning raised an outstanding amount of £570.
Overall, NES had a productive and exciting Health and Fitness day, and we hope this event will stay alive and well!
