The Heart Of The Entertainment Industry: A Dive Into Japan’s Akihabara

Here, in our school, there are many avid fans of the famed Japanese entertainment industry. And who could blame us? Japan provides all sorts of entertainment, for all sorts of people. There are beautifully animated movies and titles. But of course, if you’re not much of a watcher, then you may be interested in the comic books or novels the industry dreams up. After all, it is an industry that welcomes all sorts of people with open arms.

Japan has now become the brain behind the animation industry, but one city in particular, is the industry’s heart. This city is one that never stops circulating artistic delights; the city of Akihabara.

On its surface, the unresting city of Akihabara just seems like a carbon copy of Tokyo. However, it is close-minded thinking that leads one to say this, as the city offers its own array of beauty. To a random passerby, Akihabara looks just like another city – its buildings slicing through the clouds and its bill-board signs blinding the eyes. However, to someone with an observant eye for entertainment, there is so much more to consider.

It isn’t just people who watch anime or read manga who would eagerly bask in this city’s excitement, it is also a gamer’s dream. There are big-brand game companies all over the city and small game stores available on every corner! And you can even find electronic devices being sold everywhere you look. There are also arcades and game centers all around this gamer’s oasis, bustling with energy and exhilaration. This is a place where you can meet many people like yourself if the entertainment industry is your cup of tea.

There are also manga-cafes all around. These cafes are special because they are like libraries, but for comic books. You can visit them in movie theaters or just on the street. You are able to order things to eat and drink while you indulge in your favourite series’ latest manga volume. You can even stay here overnight if you’d like a cheap place to sleep after missing a train. Not to worry, Japan has a very low crime rate, so safety issues are not a problem.

If you ever visit Japan, it would be a great idea to give this animated city, Akihabara, a visit. Perhaps you’ll even stay overnight at a manga café! All in all, this city is far too overlooked when spoken about Japan. After all, it is not only Tokyo that lights up the jovial Japan.
