Librarian question and answers
This year, NES welcomed a new librarian!
Below is a short interview with Ms Pritchard, who came from Scotland and taught English to kids ranging from infants to 5 year olds.
So here’s the Q&A!:
–What inspired you to become as librarian at NES?
I just love books.
-How did your first week at NES go; how did you feel?
It went quite well since people were quite friendly and welcoming- but it was slightly strange, as I now teach 13 year olds rather than 3 year olds.
-Is there anything the students do that annoy you?
Breaking the rules such as talking, eating, drinking and abusing the printer…
-Which student got your attention the most and why?
The generally happy kids- and the boys playing on the chromebooks.
-How do you encourage children to read?
Saying that there is a good book for everyone and being welcoming.
-What do you feel is the role of a librarian in a school setting and what do you hope to bring to the library?
Librarians are, first and foremost, an ‘encourager’ to read more books. Hence, I look forward to welcoming people into the library, and I also hope to see what
