Music Review: BTS

Transport yourself 4559 miles away to Seoul, the heart of South Korea.

Welcome to K-pop.

Hold on, What’s K-pop?

If you’re on this page, you’re either a K-pop fan or a curious individual. For the latter, welcome to the world of K-pop. K-pop or Korean pop is a music genre exclusive to South Korea. Modern Kpop culture started from 1996 but has now spread all around the world. Despite language barriers of the music being in Korean, the sharp choreography, dazzling music videos, unique music (which can draw from over 10 styles), and of course the charming “idols” themselves, has attracted audiences of all ages and nationalities. Kpop has grown into one of the biggest genres of music; with so many groups and music, anyone can find something they enjoy. We have reviewed one album of famous Kpop group BTS for the Print readers to enjoy, and maybe discover their new passion in.

Wait, what are A.R.M.Y? And what about other groups?

Kpop has something for everyone. No wonder it’s attracted millions of fans worldwide. BTS’s fans, A.R.M.Y, are fiercely loving and loyal, trending hashtags worldwide on a daily basis. However, there are many other amazing groups in the Kpop industry, such as EXO, Big Bang and Twice. As well as many solo artists like PSY (Gangnam style, anyone?) and Taemin. BTS is a prime example of globalization with their worldwide fans as well as national ones.

Music can unite us!

This epic movement only goes to show that despite our differences, from language to culture, international aspects such as music can unite us all. After all, what’s better than a little unison in our big world? Music has no boundaries and can be enjoyed by everyone. We encourage you to look into the world of Kpop more. With a little open-mindedness, who knows, you may be jamming to a Kpop song very soon.
